Sermon Title: God Only Shows You What You Want To See: A Chosen Vessel (Part II)

Opening Thoughts:

We serve a Hebrew God, who speaks in Hebrew and follows after a Hebrew custom.

The Old Testament is the root and the New Testament is the blossom.

Scripture(s): Luke 2:21-24

After having a baby you need 40 days of rest and/or purification. Once the purification is finished then you present the baby among the congregation. This is the law (rules and regulations) of the Lord. Every male child is holy unto the Lord. After you present the male child, then you give an offering unto the Lord. Let the offering come from the heart.

Holy = Set apart

Key Points

Scripture(s): Acts 9:15

We want to be a Chosen Vessel of God.

Chosen does not mean that you are better than somebody else.

A Chosen Vessel in Jerusalem is Expounded Upon Below:

Jesus is the potter. The clay (person) has to be willing to let the potter mold it. Don’t fight against the potter, let Him mold you!

A chosen vessel has a special quality after the potter has finished with the clay.

When the potter sees something special in his vessel = Chosen Vessel

When the Potter had a chosen vessel, he would then put it in a closet. Then when customers come in they would request the chosen vessel. The Potter would not let just anybody buy it. The chosen vessel was stored in a dark place. As a chosen vessel,

sometimes God will put you in a dark place to mold you. The chosen vessel is sometimes by itself.

The Chosen Vessel will never bring you shame; you know it’s the best!

Scripture(s): Deuteronomy 7:6-9

He did not choose you because you were more in numbers. You were the least in all people.

God is not like the world, He does not necessarily choose the most scholarly.

God loved us in our mess!

God brought us out of Egypt

Holy = set apart.

A chosen vessel is made holy by just setting it apart. For example, the china in the cabinet is holy in your house because it is used only on special occasions.

God has chosen you to be a people of Himself. We will be grafted in.

We too have rebelled against God (Now or in Olden Times).

You are special to the potter (God).

For example: Always do things unto the Lord on your job. Don’t hold anger in your heart against your boss. God will give you favor if you obey those that have rule over you.

God is God! God is Faithful, no matter what the situation looks like. God keeps his covenant with you! You are the only one that can break the covenant. God will never break the covenant, He will always stand. You break the covenant with God through sin.

Scripture(s): Matthew 20:16

Many are called, but few are Chosen!

Just a few people will heed to the word of God. Not everyone will answer the call.

Scripture(s): 1Peter 2:9

We must know in our Heart the Following:

I am a Chosen Generation

I am apart of a Royal Priesthood

I am A Holy Nation

I am His Own special People

He calls Everybody, but few are Chosen! He called you out of darkness into his marvelous light.

Only those that are Chosen will come out of darkness into His marvelous light.

Scripture(s): Luke 10:42

Once you are chosen and have accepted Jesus Christ, you cannot be taken away.

For example, we don’t need a carnival, we need the closet!

He has set you aside to be apart of the Kingdom of God.

Waiting is not easy. Nobody likes to wait, but it is necessary. We have to learn to wait on God. Sometimes God just wants to mold and make us into his image, not our own image!

We are a Royal Priesthood (you have the host of heaven behind you). God is our source.

God is molding us and making us.

Scripture(s): Acts 9:10-17

God always works through someone on your behalf.

When God calls you. You need to know that is God.

I want to be on a street called straight. God knows where we live.

God wants to find you praying!

It is good to talk to God and get clarification before we make a move.

We are saints of God. God is a relationship God. He understands your tears and your pain.

When God chooses you, look to what he may choose you for. We may have to suffer some things. We have to go through to get too. God will choose you to suffer for His names sake.

You can’t suffer for God without being filled with the spirit of God. Sometimes God doesn’t let us see everything because we need faith to know God is a Provider. We need the experience of knowing that God can feed 5,000 people.

God wants you to know there are many things that we are going to suffer.

There are good things, but we are a chosen vessel.
