Sermon Title: “God Only Shows You, What You Want to See”

Opening Thoughts: Anytime you hold back from God, you won’t be able to receive His blessings.

Key Points

Scripture(s): Jeremiah 12:1-6

Jeremiah was in a place of being disillusioned, disappointed and discouraged. The question in his heart was, why do the wicked prosper?

Side Note: We are all different (e.g., skin tone, personality, hair texture, etc.) but ultimately, God has joined us all together in the body of Christ to work together. God wants to make us like Him. First, we must be born again.

You don’t have a Spirit. You are a Spirit! God is Spirit, so He made you a spirit.

The heart and the spirit is what we relate to. What comes out of a man is what defiles him.

When you accept Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior, you get a New Spirit! On the inside you’re made brand new.

It is important that we confess our sins one to another, because it will help us.

God will take care of you!

Scripture(s): Jeremiah 18:1-6

I want to be a Vessel for the Lord.

Jesus is the Potter

Anytime we do or say something not pleasing to God and/or backslide. God can make you again (vs. 4).

Once you are born again and into the Kingdom of God. God wants to shape you into His likeness. In the spirit we all look the same. God desires to shape your spirit into His image. I will know you by your heart, which is the connection.

For example, in a marriage you can’t change a person. You cannot take the position of the potter and make your spouse into your image. They need to be molded into the image of God. It is important in a marriage that spouses find a common ground, so that no one will be a God.

Scripture(s): 2 Corinthians 4:7

The treasure is you being filled with the spirit and/or the things of God.

We need to be filled with the spirit, because we are vessels for God.

In order for you to be a vessel you cannot be disobedient and unyielding. God is the only one that can make and mold you.

You can’t disappoint God, because he already knows what you’re going to do. He is molding you for what He has in store for you. God will change that militant attitude. Our failures are not final!

In order for you to be molded into the likeness of God you need some pressure.

God desires for us to be strong, usable, yielded and beautiful.

How you are made is through the water and the washing of the word of God.

Once the potter molds and makes the object (material is clay) then he will fire the clay. The fire is the trials and tribulations of life. It is designed to be a gage to see where you are at. After one has been through the fire, then God will put the seal of approval on you.

Remember you are being shaped for His good pleasure. God saved you, so that you can be a vessel of power for someone else.

Scripture(s): 1 Thessalonians 4: 3-4

You are a Vessel in Sanctification and Honor

Types of Vessels

o A Vessel of Honor

o A Vessel that is Clean

o A Vessel of Mercy

o A Chosen Vessel

o A Broken Vessel

o A Vessel of Wrath

A Vessel of Honor

o The Vessel of Honor was placed at the door.

o It was the same vessel the woman at the well used.

o Jesus Christ was the Vessel of Honor.

o If you are a vessel of honor then people should want to drink from you. Vessels of honor are approachable and give unto others.

o Most vessels of honor are known to a small group of people. We need to be filled, so that we can pour out.

o The Kingdom of God is not a bless me club! All of us should be a vessel of honor and mercy.

Scripture(s): Romans 9:23

The Vessel of Mercy looked like the vessel of honor in its appearance. A person would take the vessel of mercy out to the street and bring it back in. Anyone could drink from the vessel of mercy.

If you sow mercy, then you will get mercy.

If there is no love, there is no God.

LOVE is having mercy on someone that thinks they are getting over on you.

In the Kingdom of God just because you don’t know the law doesn’t mean it’s not there.

Coming together, learning and loving one another are important so that we won’t struggle in the Kingdom of God.

Aligning our self with God’s Word will ensure that we travel in the right direction of life.

Religion can keep you from experiencing the fullness of the Kingdom Life

Being a witness is not trying to persuade or prove anything. Witnessing involves living your life in a way that would not make sense that Jesus didn’t exist.
