Sermon Title: “You Will Fail Without the Lord”
Key Verse: When Moses reported this to all the Israelites, they mourned bitterly (Numbers 14:39)
Opening Thoughts: In order to be a healthy Church, you have to be a fearless Church.
Key Points
Scripture(s): Numbers 14:39-44
Vs. 41 Why do you want to be obedient now? But this is not what God wants.
Vs. 42 Listen to what the leaders or the spirit of the living God is telling you. If God is not with you, this will cause you to be defeated and slain by the sword. When we sin sometimes there are consequences of that sin, even though God will forgive you. The consequence of them turning from the Lord is that the Children of Israel will not possess the Land. Why? The reason is the Lord is not with them.
Vs. 44 The Children of Israel went up anyway even though the Lord was not with them.

Side note: Leaders should not be lording over you. They have been placed in that position, hopefully by God, and we are to listen and be obedient to their leading and guidance as it comes from God.o
Take heed as you will faint without the Lord.Scripture(s): Psalm 34:4
If you seek the Lord He will answer you.
Scripture(s): 1John 5:4
Vs. 4 For everyone born of God overcomes the World.
We can overcome the world with our faith.
Without faith it is impossible to please God.
If you don’t allow faith be your overcomer, fear will!
God has given us the divine ability to be delivered from fear through His word.
Key: Overcoming the Fear of People!
Scripture(s): Hebrews 2:14-15
Jesus Christ delivered us from the fear of death. He destroyed Satan’s ability to destroy us. We fear death because it is unknown. As believers we should not be afraid to leave this body.
Your faith has to be in God and not man. Man cannot destroy your soul, only your body!
Scripture(s): 1John 4:18
Vs. 18 There is no fear in love. But perfect love drives out fear, because fear has to do with punishment. The one who fears is not made perfect in love.
Perfect love casts out fear.
Fear torments you.
If you fear something you are not in perfect love. Perfect love has to be toward Jesus. You must love Him with all of your heart, soul, mind and strength.
A fear of death gives birth to other fears.
We can get beyond the fear of death by trusting God and relying on God’s ability. This is accomplished through faith.
God wants us to be Fearless and Faithful.
You have to have faith in order to be faithful. In order to be faithful you have to have faith.
We all need the hope of God.
Scripture(s): St. John 5:24
Vs. 24 I tell you the truth. Whoever hears my word and believes him who sent me has eternal life and will not be condemned; he has crossed over from death to life.
Once you become a believer you will never taste death.
Life today is not it. We are talking about ETERNITY!
Believe = Walking it Out
No need to fear because you have everlasting life.
The world (those not in Christ) will feel the punishment of Death.
Scripture(s): 2 Corinthians 5:8
Vs. 8 We are confident, I say, and would prefer to be away from the body and at home with the Lord.
The first thing you do is call on God when you are ill, then call 911.
We are CONFIDENT. CONFIDENCE is the opposite of FEAR.
To be fearful is a lack of confidence in Jesus Christ. This means you are not in perfect love.
Who are you going to serve? You will serve who you fear.
You can be absent from this body and present with the Lord. Once we leave here, we are with God.
We must worry about the one who can destroy the soul and body, which is God.
Choose this day who you will serve!
