Don’t rebuke, but honor an older person

Honor widows

The elders that rule will get double honors

o The labor portion usually refers to a pastor

The focus is to labor in the Word

Those that are not considered worthy, are not laborers

Those that labor in the word are worthy of double honor

Do not share in another person’s sin.

Scripture(s): 1Timothy 3:5-8

The aforementioned scriptures depict the qualifications of a Bishop and Pastor.

o For example, if my personal finances are not in order, then how can I run the finances of the Church?

If you can’t rule your own home, how can you take care of the Church of God?

A novice is synonymous to a new convert. Don’t follow someone young in the word that hasn’t been through anything.

On the outside we should receive a good report from others.

Leaders need to be prayed for on a daily basis, so that they won’t fall into evil things.

Deacons as well have to maintain some type of standing.
